The question that concerned the Allies in the latter part of WW2 was whether these wonder weapons were atomic bombs. Were the Germans ahead in the race to produce the ultimate weapon? Although the book deals mostly with events after WW2 it also describes the attempts by the Allies to seek out and destroy the German scientific establishments.
